Option 1: Personal Development Year
(Limited to 40 students)
This is the core Target Life experience.
Students attend classes in the mornings and work after hours to contribute toward their camp fees. Throughout the year, they grow into well-balanced young adults with clarity of purpose, strong values, and a clear sense of direction.
This pathway does not exclude further formal education. In fact, students who choose to study further are positioned to excel and consistently outperform their classmates.
It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience — formative, unforgettable, and deeply transformative.
The kind of year many parents wish they had early in their own lives.
Camps
Camps are an essential part of the discipleship and personal development journey. They significantly deepen and accelerate the overall learning experience.
In this environment, informal mentorship happens naturally and meaningfully — conversations, challenges, and shared experiences create space for real growth. Students discover new strengths, confront limitations, and gain fresh perspective about themselves and their future.
Camps don’t just support the year — they transform it into an unforgettable, life-shaping experience.
Option 2: Personal Development Year
+ Future Builders Program
(Limited to 40 students)
This is the enhanced Target Life pathway.
In addition to personal growth and discovering direction, students become truly marketplace-ready in a rapidly changing world. At a time when traditional tertiary routes are increasingly expensive and often outdated, this option offers practical, future-focused preparation.
Students attend morning classes with the Personal Development group and continue in the afternoons with the Future Builders entrepreneurial program.
Combined with the strong personal foundation of Target Life, this pathway equips young adults with:
-
Practical value-creation skills
-
AI capability and digital fluency
-
Entrepreneurial experience through sustainable projects
-
Workplace resilience, maturity, and adaptability
Participants develop future-proof thinking, accelerated learning ability, and the confidence to thrive in modern environments.
The result? Marketplace-ready leaders driven by internal motivation, confidence, hope, and faith — often outperforming peers who have spent years in traditional tertiary study.
This pathway does not exclude further formal education. In fact, students who choose to study further are positioned to excel and consistently outperform their classmates.
True potential. Built for impact.
Commune
Target Life Commune Accommodation (Optional)
Living in the Target Life Commune is optional, but many students find it to be a deeply enriching part of their year. Our commune forms part of the Hatfield Christian Church youth community, creating a safe and supportive environment for growth.
The commune offers fully furnished, dormitory-style accommodation within a community of like-minded young adults. It provides daily opportunities for friendship, social interaction, and fun — while also developing essential life skills such as responsibility, sharing, communication, and conflict resolution.
Living in community naturally supports personal development and often leads to strong, lasting friendships. For many, it becomes one of the most rewarding aspects of their launch year experience.
That said, staying in the commune is not compulsory. Day students receive the full benefit of the Target Life program.
What the Fees Include:
-
Dormitory-style furnished rooms
-
Water and electricity
-
House leaders who maintain a healthy and supportive living environment
-
Uncapped Wi-Fi
Food is not included. Students buy and prepare their own meals, often forming small food groups to share costs and responsibilities.
The premises also host other student groups, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic student community. Behind the communes are sports fields, and at the church there is a restaurant. Some students also find after-hours work opportunities at Hatfield Christian School. The premises is guarded 24/7 and completely safe. There are many businesses and schools close by to find afterhours jobs.
Living in the commune is not just about accommodation — it’s about learning to live well, grow together, and step into adulthood with confidence.
